Duties, Functions and Target Basarnas

A. MAIN TASKS
In Regulation of the Minister of Transportation No. KM.43Tahun 2005 on the organization and working procedures of the Department of Transportation, the National SAR Agency has the principal task of conducting training, coordinating and controlling the potential of Search and Rescue (SAR) in SAR activities of people and materials are missing or feared missing, or face danger in the shipping and or flight, and to provide rescue assistance in disaster relief and other disaster SAR in accordance with national and international regulations.

B. FUNCTION
In carrying out basic tasks mentioned above, the functions of the National SAR Agency:

   1.
      Formulating technical policy in the field of establishment of the SAR and development potential of SAR operations;
   2.
      Implementation of development programs and the potential of SAR SAR operations;
   3.
      The implementation of early action;
   4.
      Provision of rescue assistance in disasters and other calamities;
   5.
      Coordination and control of SAR operations base of potential SAR held by agencies and other organizations;
   6.
      Implementation relations and cooperation in the field of SAR Balk at home and abroad;
   7.
      Evaluation of implementation of coaching potential of SAR and SAR operations
   8.
      Administrative work in the National SAR Agency environment.

C. Basarnas DEVELOPMENT GOALS
In order to realize the vision and mission Basarnas, necessary to implement the following strategies:

   1.
      Making Basarnas as a leader in conducting SAR operations in shipping and aviation disasters, disasters and other calamities;
   2.
      Establishment of institution that can handle the initial education and upgrading education in environmental Basarnas
   3.
      Develop regulations that are able to mobilize the potential of SAR through coordination mechanisms that obeyed by all potential SAR;
   4.
      Implementing human resource development through the SAR pattern of targeted human resource development and continues to be formed SAR personnel professional.
   5.
      Implement fulfillment facilities / infrastructure and equipment for the SAR is gradually beginning to make SAR operations follow an independent, fast, accurate, and reliable in accordance with national and international.
   6.
      Implement education and training through education SAR in accordance with the needs of the environment Basarnas.
   7.
      Creation of the system of socialization and education to the public on the administration of rescue operation
   8.
      Developing cooperation with the Government through FKSD, organizations and agencies potentially SAR, whether domestically or abroad in order to develop the potential of SAR.
